Nature Inspired Acrylic Fluid Pour Painting Blue Green

Sometimes we only have to look to nature to be inspired to create art. Although it is winter, I have a stash of photography from last year to inspire today’s painting, Nature Inspired Acrylic Fluid Pour Painting Blue Green. One thing I love about our new location in Northeastern Tennessee is the vast amount of ever changing blue sky and acre upon acre of green fields and trees that surround us.

Below are two such photos taken last summer and last fall in 2017….

With blue and green being the theme of the day, I poured two paintings. To add a little contrast, I added white and a touch of gold to my acrylic pours. While the abstract result is in contrast to the defined details of nature, my paintings have lots of movement representing fast-moving clouds and swaying trees. The various shades of blue sky from light to dark is punctuated by a vast expanse of cumulous clouds.

Considering that we had snowflakes today, it felt good to reflect on my photography and nature’s colors. When the weather is warm, I enjoy sitting on the patio and watching the clouds go by. It’s amazing how fast the sky changes.

When was the last time you looked up and studied the clouds in the sky or paused to watch the trees blow in the breeze? Take a look outside your window today…
