Aqua and Chocolate Acrylic Pour Painting

I decided that I needed some art for my guest bath in shades of aqua, taupe, beige and brown. So, yesterday I did an Aqua and Chocolate Acrylic Pour Painting. While I was at it, I poured on to a few white, ceramic tiles that I’m eventually planning to frame.

I started out by doing a practice pour on an 8″ x 10″ canvas. I’m really glad I experimented first because the shade of aqua I mixed up was a little too pastel and the beige color ended up overpowering the entire canvas. Nonetheless, this is my first pour…named Creme Brulee.

It’s still pretty, but I decided to make the aqua bolder and tone down the reddish brown to be more of a chocolate color.

Tile Pours

While working on my bathroom painting, I decided to have fun pouring on a few white, ceramic tiles. They range in size from 3″ x 5″ to 6″ x 6″.

As to my bathroom art? I’m really happy with how it turned out and I’m looking forward to hanging it in my guest bath. It’s not hung on the wall (yet) but I did place it in a frame to show you how it will look. The aqua looks like oceans and the taupe and chocolate like continents with foaming shorelines.

Do you see the froth-like “cells” in the Aqua Froth Lagoon painting below?

There are various shades of aqua blue in the guest bath. The shower curtain (below) is more pastel with a hint of blue and the framed, floral art on the wall is a deeper shade of aqua blue.

And, just for fun, I poured on to a 5″ x 7″ mat board, hand-stenciled a leaf design on top and framed it.

My poured art will be available soon for purchase. I need to seal each painting and photograph each one before adding them to our store, AvanteArt.com
